Go See: Salon Primp in Georgia!

So, a vanity girl posted up on our Facebook that she wanted to see one of our vanities in person – and low and behold, there is a spot 20 miles outside of Atlanta that has them.

Go See! xo

Buzz :: ★ Shimmer: Fashion For Every Age and Size ★

We were so pleased to be a part of Shimmer Boutique’s Fashion Show and Vanity Mixer yesterday in San Diego, CA. Here is plus size fashion blogger (and UCSD Master’s Student) Alessandra’s post about our sparkly fun. And Bellus Academy was onhand doing makeovers at our Vanity Stations.

One of the things I love so much about what I do, are the relationships you form. Like, Judy (the gorgeous owner of Shimmer) was the first brick and mortar store to buy our vanities. It was so early on, they didn’t even have our logos on them! She’s an Original Vanity Girl.

And Alessandra “knew” me and Vanity Girl, from Koren’s video … and “everybody else under the sun” lol. I was tickled to meet her and the other bloggers that attended, especially because Alessandra is bilingual in Spanish and I know Latinas love their glam!

And I knew Bellus because Pursebuzz invited me to be a part of two events she has done with them — and I first met Koren and Pursebuzz together years ago.  Beauty really is a small circle (worldwlde no less) because we are all connected via social media.  I just LOVE it.

Anyway – I’m blabbering. Please enjoy Alessadra’s pics! More to come …

Product <3 :: Manna K Cosmetics

One of my favorite things about Vanity Girl is that we simply have the best customers. Whether you guys are sharing your vanity rooms with me via Facebook and Instagram – or pro users using the vanities to glam out your showrooms, you leave me with a constant stream of inspiration for the company.

Today, I got to meet and greet with one of our pro customers, Manna of Manna K Cosmetics, (she responded to a newsletter I sent out) and we sat down at Le Pain on Melrose over a quinoa salad, red wine (her) and proseco (me).

It was simply lovely. We bonded over some of the hurdles of the beauty businesses – and brainstormed about some very cool things we have on the horizon. And she brought me some goodies – her lipstick, lipgloss and her signature self-tanner (smells so good, not like tanner at all).

I just love to see women supporting other women – and a little bubbly on a Friday afternoon doesn’t hurt either!

More later!

PS.  Here’s a peek at Manna’s OC showroom featuring our Silver Broadway Table Top mirror.  We love how she put it on a glass consul and also the hot pink chair.  And yes, she is open the public so you can go check it out in person!

Stay : The Crane Residential Resort in Barbados

Flashback! I stayed at this gorgeous property at the invitation of my friend Ava whom I met in Paris at the Alliance Francais

What I loved …

  • Our large room had a full kitchen, 2 bedrooms and baths and balcony with a jacuzzi on it.
  • Location, location, location.  This traditional, pool-heavy property overlooks the award winning Crane Beach – known for its pink sand.
  • Pools, pools, pools.  I absolutely LOVE when I can lay by a pool, gazing at gorgeous blue skies while overlooking a blue ocean.  It’s my favorite thing.   There were lagoon style pools to classic infinity pools.  A top a sort of private bar area, there was one that even reminded me of something from Greece.
  • Service.  The ratio of staff to guests ensures that you never want for anything.

Ambiance …

This hotel has been around a long time … since 1887 and it has a traditional feel.   It has been restored and the rooms are larger.  I didn’t have a chance to take a peek at the villas – but the pools are literally EVERYWHERE.  Even some of the rooms of themselves.  It could be appropriate for families, romance or for friends that just want a quiet, elegant type of vacay.

Eat …

There are four options on the proeprty.

We had a lovely dinner at Zen which overlooks the ocean.  Here’s a pic of me at that dinner (above)

Must do:

One day, a group of us rented a catamaran and cruised around the island.  We snorkled with sea turtles and other serious wildlife and when we whipped around to the other side of the island, some locals pulled up alongside our boat with jetskis for rent (like $20 for an hour).

It brought out my inner Laura Croft when I jumped off the side of the boat, with my $20 tucked into my bathing suit top and handed it to the guy.  He invited me to get on the back at which point I had to let him know that I wanted to ride that jetski solo next to the catamaran full of my friends in that hot Baijan sun and gorgeous Caribbean Ocean …

Here’s a fun little article about Simon Cowell and Carmen Elektra (did anyone see that coming?) jetskiing in Barbados …
